coaching vs therapy
coaching vs therapy
‘I’m done surviving, I would like to live.’
Are you after all wondering what the biggest difference is between couples coaching and couples therapy? There is definitely an easy way to explain it:
Therapy is essentially about providing a safe space for couples so they can resolve various emotional issues. Ultimately they are lead to come to accept something that is rather hard to talk about (e.g. a previous divorce, infidelity, trauma, illness or difficulty, etc.). Frequently there are pathologies that are preventing them from being happy. So whilst couples in therapy are looking to heal and get better; coaching clients are looking to achieve specific results. In other words, psychotherapy and counselling aim to dig out the past. Ordinarily they deal with unresolved issues from the past.
Usually a coach will investigate what is going on to help one or both partners in a relationship to improve something. For example, improving personal growth, communication or helping you to find a way back to each other. Coaching therefore takes action to change lives. And couples coaching is more about assessing and adapting your habits in the present. To subsequently get results you want in the future. Whether that’s fixing something in the near term (e.g. “We want to organize our days better so we can spend more quality time together) or working towards something intimate over the long term (e.g. “How do I deal with the fact that my husband doesn’t like the way we make love anymore?”).
indulge in reconnecting
I want you to cross your boundaries. Then gently fail. And finally stand back up and celebrate your greatness.
In order to launch our coaching sessions, click the APPLY NOW button at the bottom of this page and fill in an easy form. Once I get back to you, we set up an initial consultation. It serves to explore your relationship dynamics as well as set a goal you and your partner mutually wish to achieve through my coaching. Yet it is not essential for both partners to be familiar with coaching and how it works. But it is key for both to be committed to the transformation and to keep arriving with an open mind.
I specialize in Couples Coaching in Surrey & London face-to-face or via zoom calls. But it does not matter if we connect in person or via internet. Because I will always make you feel at home and as a strong unit. Our sessions will in most cases be weekly and range anywhere between 60 and 120 minutes. That said, for couples on the brink of divorce the frequency may increase to weekly. In general I recommend that the initial visit occur face-to-face if possible.
My coaching is notably fluid and flexible. If you, throughout the journey, decide to redefine your goal or decide to dive deeper, then I will adjust our program accordingly. Whatever happens, it will surely be happening for you. For this reason, I will be 150% dedicated to create your new story with you and to transform your love life. So whatever it is that you are struggling with, we will sort you out. And soon you feel amazing again. Get in touch now 🙂
coaching for couples
The first step to a successful coaching journey is always for both partners to admit that something is not working for them anymore. They thereafter decide that they are both ready to invest to find clarity. Both engage in sensible and effective communication whilst being led by an experienced professional.
